Most of us do not care about the skin, and those who care, also do mistakes. So today we will understand 05 common skincare mistakes and learn how to fix them.
Before learning all this, we have to clarify that taking care of skin and body, isn’t feminine at all.
A lot of men do not pay attention to their skin and hair because they think that all these things are just suitable for women.
If we implement all this then people will make fun of us but remember, this symbolizes poor and cheap thinking.
Skin plays a lead role when we talk about looking or feeling good and this is the outer layer of your body.
So, you must keep it healthy and flawless.
So, now let’s learn about those common skincare mistakes we make –
05 COMMON SKINCARE MISTAKES
01. Poor nutrition –
When it comes to the first step of making our skin clean and healthy, most people just run towards several cosmetic products but the most important thing is a balanced diet, In which most people make mistakes.
Nutrition is fuel for our body, so the highest impact always appears on the outer parts of the body like hair, skin, etc.
Due to not getting proper nutrition and consuming unhealthy food, all the consequences occur on our skin in the form of some annoying skin problems like pimples, acne, wrinkles, blemishes, dark spots, dullness, etc.
So to achieve flawless and healthy skin, your diet should be healthy and well balanced.
If you want to make your skin healthy and glowing then you have to consume fresh and healthy food.
You have to avoid foods, which are bad for your skin like white bread, sugar, packed food, soft drinks, junk food, etc.
All these things are toxic to your skin.
You also have to keep yourself away from such food which can cause serious acne issues and those are packed chips, biscuits/cookies, sugary food, soft drinks, pasta, noodles, fast food, oily food, etc.
You should always consume balanced nutritional food, and protein, unsaturated fats, and complex carbs should be in your diet.
Apart from these, minerals, vitamins, and fibers are also required.
Regularly consume a balanced quantity of healthy fats and Omega-3 fatty acids, which increases the collagen level and it prevents wrinkles.
Collagen makes your skin smoother and stretchable.
Along with food, you have to also take care of the water intake.
Water keeps your skin hydrated due to which the skin looks alive and shiny.
02. No skincare routine –
Our skin also seems to be lifeless with increasing age but you have noticed that the age effect does not appear on celebrities’ skin.
Their skin looks glowing and healthy, because of which they seem to be young.
The reason for this is that they regularly take care of their skin.
You’ve also seen that usually, our sisters take a lot of care of their skin and therefore women look younger than men in every house.
This is one of the most common skincare mistakes and it’s consequences start appearing earlier.
Our skin is very gentle, so it is necessary to take care of it properly.
So if you are among those who do not care about their skin, then you should change your mindset and do justice with your skin.
You do not have to do a lot of things for this, you just have to prepare and follow a basic skincare routine for your skin type.
To make an ideal and basic skincare routine you have to implement the following steps –
(A) Wash your face twice a day, right after waking up and before going to sleep.
(B) after the facewash, moisturize your skin with a good quality moisturizer.
Keep in mind you choose the moisturizer according to your skin type.
If your skin is oily then go for an oil-free moisturizer otherwise it can lead to clogged pores, acne, blackheads, etc.
.(C) Apply sunscreen regularly because harsh sunlight is hazardous and fatal for the skin.
So the sun protection is mandatory.
(D) Use an anti-aging cream as a night cream, if needed.
(E) Before going to bed, you have to apply a good quality under eye cream.
It prevents dark circles and wrinkles.

03. Soap for skin –
Often people use soap to wash faces, which is a very common skincare mistake.
The skin of our face is very delicate and using soap on the face can be extremely harmful.
Some toxic chemicals are used in soap which is very unhealthy to our skin.
Chemicals like Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS), parabens, triclosan, sodium benzoic acid, etc.
These chemicals destroy the outer defensive layer of our skin and remove all the natural essential oils.
Due to this, many serious problems arise on skin like inflammation, acne, fungal infection, pimples, etc.
In addition to all these chemicals, synthetic fragrances, colors, and pH adjusters are also used in soaps, because of which, we face skin-related issues like skin dryness, dehydration, and pH imbalance.
Soaps are extremely harsh and poisonous to our skin, even if the companies give them a tag mild soap or face soap.
So, you should never use soap on your skin.
Stop using soap on your skin, you should always use a good quality face wash, which is suitable for your skin.
Facewashes are specially made for your delicate skin, so they don’t have harsh chemicals.
Use a quality face wash according to your skin and you will feel the distinction.
If you do not want to use facewashes, which are made up of chemicals, then you can also use natural facewashes like pavitra organic activated charcoal facewash, Crave foaming facial and hydrating cleanser, Rustic arts neem basil facewash, Tata Harper foaming facial cleanser, Sirona exfoliating facewash, etc.
04. Facing harsh sun –
By the way, the sun is also essential for our skin but only when the sunrays do not land directly on our skin.
Till eight or nine o’clock in the morning, the sunrays fall horizontally on our skin, which is not harmful to the skin rather it is beneficial.
The damage occurs when harsh Sun rays fall vertically on our skin
Because of this, we face many terrible skin problems like sunburn, discoloration, sagging, wrinkles, etc.
When the harmful ultraviolet rays coming from the sun touch our skin, they damage the skin cells badly and due to this, we suffer through some difficulties like leathery skin, dark spots, skin redness, etc.
The side effects of the ultraviolet rays may also lead to deadly diseases like skin cancer.
So uncovering your skin in the harsh sunlight without any protection can prove to be dangerous to you.
Well, It is impossible to keep yourself away from the sunlight because we can not live in a cave throughout life but we can do some measures due to which our skin does not damage much.
Firstly, try to avoid harsh sunlight as much as you can but if you have to go out, then apply sunscreen on those areas of your body, which can’t be hidden like the face, hands, neck, etc.
Sunscreen works like a shield against sun damages and provides you protection from harmful ultraviolet rays (UVA & UVB).
You should apply sunscreen on your skin about 15-25 minutes before, going outside.
Make sure the sunscreen you use has a 20-35 sun protection factor (SPF).
Some of my recommendations are Lacto calamine sun shield SPF 30 PA++ and Glenmark La shield sunscreen gel SPF 40 PA+++.
Also, keep your skin type in mind while purchasing a sunscreen.
05. Unnecessary touch –
We all have a terrible habit that we touch our hair and face oftentimes, even when there is no need.
We used to touch our faces several times a day and we even do not know because it has become an addiction.
It is proven in multiple human behavioral observation studies.
According to the survey of new south wales University, it is verified that an average man touches his face 23 times in an hour.
Touching your face excessively can be very dangerous because it causes bacteria to encamp on your face and then you have to struggle with many problems like skin infection, acne, cold viruses, or flu.
The infection travels from your hands to your face and then the worst and most common side effect we face is acne, which is truly disturbing and painful.
Yes, it is hard to keep our hands away from the face because it is a habit.
Most of the time we don’t even know when we touch our face but we can relinquish every bad habit if we want and It is entirely up to you how vigilant you are.
Try not to touch your face, again, and again.
You can keep a handkerchief or wiping/tissue paper with you.
Maybe, this habit will not go away completely because it is a part of human behavior.
Even if we rectify this bad habit to some extent, we will be able to protect ourselves from a lot of harmful diseases.
So these are some common skincare mistakes that most people do and then suffer through their consequences.
Apart from these, you should also take some precautions like you should use a specific towel to pat-dry your face because when you use the same towel for your face and body, it may cause bacterial infection on your face.
Whenever you buy a face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, scrub, or any other skincare product, then always choose the product according to your skin type.
Never trust any product or brand blindly, otherwise, it can be harmful instead of giving benefits.
So please, always read everything conveyed from the brand.
Bringing these habits into your daily life will be extremely effective for you.
