What is my face shape?
This question has confused a lot of minds, whether a man or woman, most people do not know what is the exact shape of their face.
Therefore today we are going to tell you the method, by which you will know the shape of your face very easily but before that, you should know why your face shape is so important.
First of all, you have to clearly understand that this is not a critical thing at all, you only need to take measurements and that’s it you got it for all.
Now, coming back to the topic, let’s understand why you should know your face shape.
Why face shape is important –
Now it has been a very long time when we used to go to the salon and the barber gives that typical “top short & sides fade” haircut accordingly.
Today a lot of things have changed and we always look for perfection in everything, especially in our appearance.
Therefore, It is important to choose the ideal haircut for your face, and here comes the significance of face shapes.
A diamond face can not look great in a textured pompadour and a triangle face can not own the wavy side-part.
So which haircut or hairstyle will suit you the most, depends on what your face shape is.
Apart from this, the importance of face shape is also while selecting sunglasses or optical glasses and beard style for your face.
So if you want a top-notch look then it is very important to know your face shape and make sure you choose a hairstyle, sunglasses, and facial hairstyle (beard & mustache) according to your face shape.
Now when you know all how valuable your face shape is in your everyday life, you need to take some specific measurements of your face, which will let you know what is your exact face shape.
How to measure –
For this, you have to stand straight in front of a mirror and you need a tailoring tape (flexible tape measure) so that there is no chance for mistakes.
Along with this, keep a paper and pen with you on which you will record all the stats.
Now you have to take the following four measurements on your face –
First of all, measure the top of your face which is the forehead. It is also the widest part of your face.
For this, you have to measure the distance between the peak of your both eyebrows.
Bring the tape measure and pull from the top of your one eyebrow arch to the top of the opposite eyebrow arch.
Now note down the number on paper.
After measuring your forehead you have to measure your cheekbones.
Simply use your fingers and point out the cheekbone (pointest part of your cheeks), which is right below the exterior end of each eye.
Now, pull the tape and measure up from one cheekbone to the opposite cheekbone and just record the number.
First of all, let me clear, If your face is chubby, it does not mean that there is no jawline on your face, it only means that you don’t have a sharp or defined jawline.
So, you have to measure your jawline to determine your face shape.
Start measuring up from the tip of your chin to right below your ear make sure at one time you measure one side i.e. half of your jawline.
Now write down the number and to make it more simple and easy you can multiply the number by 2, so you will get an accurate measurement of your jawline or you can measure the opposite part of your jawline in the same way.
Face length –
The length of your face should be measured carefully because it can worsen everything from just an inch mistake.
So carefully, pull the tape measure from the center of your hairline to the tip of your chin.
If you are bald then pull the tape where your hairline should be and measure from the estimated point.
Now, record the number.
Types of face shapes –
Now, when you have all the required measurements of your face, write down the greatest of the four and observe which face shape describes your face the best from the following.
Simply go through all the face shapes and recognize which is the closest to your stats.
1. Square –
The measurements of cheekbones, forehead, face length and jawline all are substantially similar and the jawline is sharp.
2. Oblong –
Cheekbones, jawline, and forehead are similar.
Face length is the greatest measurement.
3. Round –
The measurements of the forehead and jawline are fairly similar.
Face length and cheekbones are also similar but greater than the forehead and jawline.
The jawline is not too sharp, defined, and structured.
4. Diamond –
The largest measurement is the face length and the chin is defined and pointy.
All other measurements are in the following descending order: Cheekbones, forehead, and jawline.
5. Oval –
The jawline is not sharp and it has soft angles.
The face length measure is greater than the cheekbones and the width of the forehead is greater than the jawline measurement.
6. Heart –
The width of the forehead is larger than the jawline and cheekbones.
Meanwhile, the chin is pointy and angular.
7. Triangle –
The face length doesn’t matter in the triangle face shape.
The jawline measure is greater than the cheekbones and the measurement of cheekbones is greater than the forehead.
Thus, if you follow this method step-by-step, you will easily determine your face shape.
This is an extremely easy and simple method but in case you have any confusion or question, feel free to ask me in the comment section.
I would love to help you!
